A large majority of them are not available to work in the health sector because of existing health and social structure which is not responsive to their requirements.
The fact is there is more than 80 percent of Pakistan women medical students in the 93 medical colleges of the country. It is not just because women students are superior to male students. This is just because they are more hard working and focused on their studies. After passing out their examinations the dropout rate of these women doctors of Pakistan is very high because of their family and social problems while the remaining are not willing take up the difficult and challenging jobs. In the last few years this trend has hurt the healthcare system gravely. If this situation continues, the whole healthcare delivery system in Pakistan will be affected.
